Italian Style Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 20g dark choc chips (70%+ cocoa)
  • 30g Bournville powder
  • 15g cornflour
  • 75g golden caster sugar
  • 300ml whole milk (½ semi, ½ Elmlea)
  • pinch salt

Method:

  1. In small saucepan; Combine sifted Bournville and cornflour with hand whisk.
  2. Gradually whisk in cold milk then sugar.
  3. Bring to boil over low-medium heat until it starts to thicken.
  4. Whisk in choc chips, off heat, until melted.
  5. Add more milk (or alcohol) if desired.
  6. Serve with whipped/squirty cream.

Tip: Serve in small-medium sized mugs.

Tip: Dip rim of mug into Nutella, then cocoa/chopped chocolate/chopped hazelnuts as decoration.

Tip: Try adding ½ tsp vanilla, almond or orange essence (or 1/4 tsp extract), as real fruit juice may curdle.
