Makes: 500ml
Ingredients:
- 85-100g white breadcrumbs (4 day old French baguette if hand grating)
- 1 large onion, quartered
- 1 large garlic clove, crushed
- ⅛ tsp cloves (very shy)
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg (shy)
- ⅛ tsp black pepper (very shy)
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 325ml gold top milk
- 35g butter
- 2 tbsp double Elmlea to slacken
- Pinch of salt
Method:
- In medium saucepan; Put milk, onion, garlic, cloves, nutmeg, bay, onion powder, salt and pepper. Bring to boil.
- Remove from heat, stir in butter, cover pan for 2 hours.
- Squeeze onions. Remove onions, garlic and bay.
- Stir in Elmlea and breadcrumbs.
- Reheat to serve.
- Serve with Christmas Dinner or New Years Dinner, Clementine Carrots, Honey Roast Parsnips and Gravy.
