Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp veg oil. 124
- 6 tsp garlic purée. 102
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped. 60
- 1kg passata. 230
- pinch salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp chilli purée
- 2 tsp sugar. 56
- 500ml hot water
- 4 tsp dried basil
- 100ml double Elmlea. 336
Method:
- In large saucepan; Fry onion in oil until very soft. 10 mins.
- Add garlic and fry for 1 min.
- Add passata, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, chilli and sugar. Simmer 5 mins.
- Stir in water. Simmer 30 mins.
- Optional: Blend if necessary.
- Stir in cream off heat. Serve.
- Serve with Cheese, Rosemary and Potato Scones.
