Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp veg oil. 124
- 1 large onion, chopped. 75
- 2 tsp garlic purée. 34
- 500g lean beef mince. 840
- 200ml red wine. 157
- 1 Knorr beef stock pot. 60
- 2 tbsps Worcestershire sauce. 15
- 500g passata. 140
- 500g Vittoria tomatoes, halved. 160
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp rosemary
- 1 tsp basil
- ½ tsp mixed herbs
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1kg fresh gnocchi. 1420
Method:
- In sauté pan; Soften onion in oil. 5 mins.
- Stir in garlic. 2 mins.
- Add mince, brown. 7 mins.
- Stir in wine, simmer, reduce. 10 mins.
- Add stock pot, Worcestershire sauce, passata, 100ml boiled water, tomatoes, herbs, salt and pepper. Stir. Simmer, covered. 20 mins. Remove bay leaves.
- Mix in gnocchi. Simmer. 3 mins.
- Serve.

Alternatively: After step 4, preheat oven to 180°C Fan / Gas Mark 6. After step 5, pour mince mix into 12x9" Pyrex roaster. Arrange fresh gnocchi on top. Roast for 40 mins until golden and crunchy. Serve. Total time, 1 hr 45 mins.
