Meatballs/Burgers

Serves: 6, Calories: 48 per ball, Time: 1 hr 15 mins.

Ingredients:

  • 2 thick slices stale bread, crumbed. 300
  • 500g minced beef. 830
  • 1 onion, finely diced. 75
  • ½ green pepper, finely diced. 25
  • ½ red pepper, finely diced. 25
  • ½ celery stalk, finely diced. 4
  • 2 small eggs. 150
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce. 15
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard. 8
  • 1 tsp garlic. 17
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tbsp Cajun (or Italian garlic and herb) seasoning
  • ½ tsp mild chilli powder
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C Fan/Gas Mark 4.
  2. In plastic bowl; Combine all ingredients.
  3. Shape into 24-30 meatballs / 6 patties.
  4. Place in oiled 14x10" Pyrex roaster.
  5. Bake for 30-40 mins.
  6. Serve with Spaghetti Bolognese.

Note: Blend breadcrumbs first in DRY processor unit.

Tip: Squeeze excess juice from chopped veg.

Alternatively: Shape into 6-8 burgers. Fry for 12-15 mins.
